A prominent and popular sign
in the Burton town centre has recently been replaced by the installation team
from Hardy Signs Limited.
The Coors Brewers hoarding
located on the Trent Bridge has indentified the gateway to Burton for more than
30 years and is over sixty feet in length standing more than 20 feet tall.
Falcon Close based signage
experts Hardy Signs were called in to assist as the sign structure itself had
suffered some wear and tear over the years and was in need of replacement.
“This particular sign is
possibly the largest in the town at over 700 square foot for the face alone.” commented
Project Manager Tom Hardy. “Coors were insistent that the new sign structure
should match the current one as close as possible.”
“The structure itself
comprises a series of plywood panels which are mounted to a timber framework…
elevating the panels to be seen over the Trent Bridge itself. We were keen to
ensure that the materials were treated correctly to give the sign maximum
longevity.”
The sign is situated alongside
the Trent Bridge, on the walkways leading to the Washlands and so extra care
was needed in dismantling the existing sign as well as erecting the new one.
Managing Director Nik Hardy
added, “This project illustrates how versatile Hardy Signs can be… we pride
ourselves in being ‘not just another sign company’. We work in almost any
material and have the knowledge and skill sets in house to carry out major
renovations and alterations in the field.”
Troy Lee of Coors Brewers added “In using Hardy
Signs, we could be confident that the works would be carried out without the
need for external contractors, thus ensuring that we received a dedicated and cost
effective service.”
