Burton’s leading signage company Hardy Signs has just completed its latest sign
contract in Manchester.
The company designed and installed signs on mobile treatment units travelling around Greater Manchester as part of a £172m private health contract to cut waiting times. This medical service will double in size, when two further mobile units are brought into service later this year.
The service, run by private company Care UK, will use five sites in shopping and
leisure centre car parks, with two more sites to be added in the next few months.
Nik Hardy, Hardy Signs MD, added, “The CATS vehicles, that’s the Clinical Assessment
and Treatment Service, have been designed so the NHS Trusts in Greater Manchester
can assess and treat up to 80,000 patients each year.
It’s a big target to achieve, so we worked with CATS to develop signs and information
which would make these units really stand out.”
The units, have to meet the same safety standards as all other medical facilities, are
open clinics 2-3 days a week at each of the seven designated sites, and include
weekend and evening surgeries.
The CATS units will perform CT and MRI scans as well as minor operations with
patients referred to one of the CATS centres by their GP. However they can still opt
to go to hospital if they prefer.
The ultra-modern units will provide extra capacity and shorter waiting times for many
patients and form an additional level of medical care for all those living in Greater
Manchester.
