An award winning signs contractor has announced that Burton’s Mullarkeys Direct has
won its latest competition run earlier this year.
The Anglesey Road based fishing tackle specialists scooped the £250 prize of vehicle
signage for one of its vans from Hardy Signs.
Glenn Woods from Mullarkeys Direct said, “The competition on the Hardy Signs web
site got us thinking that we should get our van sign written. It’s a moving billboard for
this company and the new livery will further promote our name in the area.”
The fishing tackle company has a strong and growing number of loyal customers in and
around Burton, who use its heavily branded online sales facility on the web site.
Established more than 40 years ago, Mullarkeys moved to their new premises on
Anglesey Road from Waterloo Road at the end of November last year, when they
outgrew their original premises.
Fishing is still the largest pastime in this country with numbers steadily increasing.
Invitations and requests to join competitions are still on the up and catch sizes
increasing with larger and larger specimens being landed.
Mullarkeys Direct support local charities by holding boat and shoreline fishing
competitions and family days at Blithfield Reservoir. This event held for the first time
last June will be repeated this year and included at the casting competition won on
accuracy not distance.
However, amongst the fishing fraternity, traditional events still remain most popular
with the levels of skill showing no signs of decreasing.
Nik Hardy MD at Hardy Signs added, “We are running monthly competitions on our web site and also for customers who visit our offices. Entry is simple – either enter your name online, or drop a business card in our competition box.
For April, we are offering registered charities in the area the chance to win £150 of free
signage”
Marketing Consultant Jonathan Nason from Quay Directions pointed out that “easy to
manage online promotions can make all the difference. With planned budgets, it is
possible to mount a campaign that can have measureable results as Hardy Signs has
proven”.
