Impressive signs for the Future of Tanning

February 8th 2010

This January, visitors to Stapenhill will have noticed the exciting development of the new Tanning Cabin store in St Peter’s Street.

With several stores across the midlands, including Swadlincote and Oldbury,  TheTanningCabin have now moved their flagship store into the former St Peter’s Garage site; and in doing so created a futuristic and stylish home for the very latest word in tanning, nails and beauty treatment – all under one roof.

In order to create the desired image and unique feel to this development, Hardy Signs were asked to design, manufacture and install the interior and exterior signage and display.

TheTanningCabin director, Mark Jackson commented “ We have worked with Hardy Signs for a number of years now for signage across our stores and have long been impressed with their ability to cater to their client’s requirements. This particular project demanded the very best in contemporary signage and display.

The exterior fascia sign for the St Peter’s Street site is the very first thing you notice when approaching… the sign, in excess of 10 metres in length, is a custom built light box unit with a flexible ‘skin’ face.  As a modern and more practical alternative to acrylic face panels, a single piece of PVC with a full colour print is stretched over the framework to create a neat and seamless finish – which allows larger signs such as this to appear as one. This sign is then complemented by a further two, large exterior signs – again utilising the newly created corporate identity in stylish matt black, orange and white.

The shop front of the former garage has been completely replaced and now benefits from large glazed panels, which not only bathe the interior in natural light but also provide plenty of opportunity for window display. By installing a series of cable suspended, acrylic poster holders and full colour printed posters, Hardy Signs have provided opportunity for offers and promotions to be successfully displayed to the exterior whilst easily being able to change the messages on a regular basis.

Having now stepped into the reception area, you are greeted by a wealth of style, colour and light. From the patterned floor material to the recessed lighting bays – almost everything of the interior has been custom designed and installed for this ambitious project.

“The interior signage had to be no exception” commented Hardy Signs Design Manager, Adam Bates. “We have used an array of highly polished acrylic lettering which has been colour matched to the new scheme and  complements the décor superbly”.

“With 7 tanning rooms, 2 beauty suites and a unique ‘Skin Bar’ we have supplied and installed all manner of signage here… each room needed to be labelled and all health and safety points had to be considered. We really feel that, with a combination of well thought out and impressive décor – complimented by modern and eye catching signage - TheTanningCabin, Stapenhill has created the perfect environment  for its customers.

Company MD, Nik hardy concluded "This project demonstrates our ability to work closely with the customer to acheive fantastic results"
