Burton’s leading sign makers and suppliers, Hardy Signs is witnessing an increasing
demand for it’s vehicle sign writing services.
The Falcon Close-based company has completed the latest in a string of 20 vans in the last six-weeks, with a full set of logos and vehicle graphics for Mace Electrical’s fifth vehicle in its fleet.
“The latest vinyls have improved eco-friendly, adhesive compounds which are only
activated when final pressure is applied to the die-cuts”, pointed out Nik Hardy, Managing Director of Hardy Signs.
“With a wider range of colours, designers of vehicle livery including my company,
can be even more creative. We have explored the potential to print onto these vinyls
to create uniquely distinctive colours, which cannot be matched from the standard
palette of materials”.
UK vinyl manufacturers have been put under pressure by the sign industry to
develop materials that offer improved adhesion, but at the same time can be easily
removed without damaging vehicle paint work.
“The trade-in value of our vehicles has been improved by some 11% per vehicle”
said Simon Chapman, MD of Mace Electrical, “as our livery is now easier to remove,
when we look to dispose of an existing van”.
“It certainly makes it worthwhile to specify these new vinyls which cause zero-rated
damage to the paint surface and allow our all-white vans to have a new new lease
of life. It makes sound economic sense to follow that route”.
The expanded ranges of these uprated vinyls were originally developed for complete
vehicle wraps.
The ability of sign companies like Hardy Signs to print complicated designs and colours directly on to these vinyls has created a vastly expanded market.
Now Hardy Signs has taken use of the vinyls a stage further applying them as logos
and for individual sign writing.
According to Nik Hardy it has ‘opened up an entirely new opportunity for the company; It offers improved value for the vehicle operator at trade in, and it allows each owner to highly personalise their new vehicles, and even add eyecatching promotional signs”. |
